Resource System (Mines and Mining Operations)

In this game, the ore mined in the pits is mainly used for upgrading weapons and armor, as well as for crafting items.

Tools Required for Ore Mining

In RF Online, all three races — Accretia, Bellato, and Cora — can engage in ore mining. You can start mining as long as you have a “drill” and a “battery.” These items can be purchased in the city from the Warehouse Keeper.

Once you have prepared all the tools required for mining, you can travel to the mine using the Teleporter. Since the mining process is automatic, all you need to do is activate the drill and charge it. Before heading to the mine, don’t forget to free up as many inventory slots as possible.

Ore Mining

To mine ore, you must purchase a drilling device from the Warehouse Keeper. In addition to that, you need to buy batteries. Batteries come in three types: small, medium, and large. They last for 30 minutes, 1 hour, and 2 hours respectively.

Selecting the Ore Drilling Mode

If you have both a Mining Tool and at least one battery, head to the Mine and look for a suitable ore mining area. Equip the drilling device and click on the Mining Mode. A window will open where you can select which of the five types of ore you want to mine.

Auto mining tools (umt)

These tools can be used for mining in autonomous mode, allowing your character to engage in other activities at the same time.

The first thing you need to do is create a storage for your ore by talking to the NPC Warehouse Keeper who handles ore refining. The storage costs 250 Gold and provides 40 slots.

There are three types of tools for ore mining. Although they are all generally intended for the same purpose, their characteristics differ slightly:

  • light umt:
Requirements: Level 25; cost 300,000 of your race’s currency; has 50,000 HP
  • medium umt:
Requirements: Level 35; cost 1,000,000 of your race’s currency; has 100,000 HP
  • high umt:
Requirements: Level 45; cost 2,000,000 of your race’s currency; has 150,000 HP

Battery:

  • Small Battery: lasts for 1 hour 30 minutes of mining; costs 30,000 of your race’s currency.
  • Standard Battery: lasts for 3 hours of mining; costs 60,000 of your race’s currency.

Usage Conditions:

  • UMT run on batteries and can hold up to 2 batteries.
  • UMTs mine slightly slower than a player would in the same location.
  • Ore mined using UMTs is sent directly to storage.
  • UMTs have characteristics such as cost and HP, so when a player attacks a UMT, a notification will appear on the screen informing the player that their tool has been attacked.

Next Steps

There are five types of ore:

  • Blue ore. Used for belts and leg armor.
  • Red ore. Used for firearms and head armor.
  • Yellow ore. Used for shields, cannons/turrets, and torso armor.
  • Green ore. Used for bows, throwing knives, and arm armor.
  • Black ore. Used for melee weapons and back armor.

After selecting the ore you want to mine, click the “Mining Mode” button, and your drilling device will start mining. The mined ore will automatically appear in your inventory. Note: the system may not be able to collect all the ore into a single stack, but you will still receive the type you mined.

Ore can be sold for money to any NPC vendor or refined by the Warehouse Keeper. If you want to refine ore, go to the Warehouse Keeper and select “Refine”. You can now insert the ore into the window and click the “Process” button. Keep in mind that refining ore costs money.

Refined ore can be used for crafting items. But if you don’t have crafting knowledge, you can simply sell it. To sell resources, drag them into the selling window of any NPC. Or right-click on the item; for this, you need to be in a shop and click the “Buy/Sell” button.
